About our Projects

CSIY’s whole existence relies around making a difference in the lives of Orphans in Iraq. By that, CSIY members and supporters come up with specific projects and work to receive funding to implement those projects. We invite all members and supporters to come to us with project ideas in order to make a direct change in the lives of orphans in Iraq.

CSIY Projects:

1. Food for Ramdhan Project - CSIY contributed $2000 in September 2008 to provide families of orphans of the Al Kafeel Institute in Iraq with meat for Ramdhan 2008.

2. Blankets for Orphans Project - CSIY received a generous contributor who donated 500 blankets to each child of the Al Kafeel Institute to keep them warm this coming winter. These blankets were imported into Iraq specifically for these orphans.

3. Sponsor a child or family Project: CSIY alongside its members and members of the community are working to sponsor each child of the Al Kafeel Institute. Below are the registration forms of each of the families being sponsored. All it costs to sponsor a child is a mere $10 a month. Members must commit to at least 1 year of sponsorship. If you are interested in sponsoring a child please contact us.

4. Building a School Project: Our 2009 project initiative will be to help fund the structuring a of school for orphans in Iraq. More details about this project will be made available soon. If you have any ideas on how we can raise funding for this project, or if you would like to contribute, please contact us.

5. Arba`een Fundraiser - During the months of Muharam and Safar (2009) CSIY ran a fundraising campaign to help suppor deprived and displaced Iraqi families living in and out of slums in Iraq. The fundraiser was in honor and commemoration of the Arba`een of Imam Hussein (AS). CSIY was able to raise $4500 to send to displaced Iraqi families in need.
